My article, “The many masks of Dr. Henry Pym: Alter ego, identity, disability and personality of a founding Avenger,” is now available at the journal Film, Fashion & Consumption.
Many people have written about Hank before. He’s a character that’s generated a lot of conversation due to his problematic relationships with women and his challenges with mental health issues. He’s a good example of modern writers and academics breathing different kinds of lives into a character.
I hope my piece extends the conversation around Dr. Pym in a productive way. Like most of the articles in this issue, I focus on Pym’s costumes, how they reflect his identity, and what we can read into them about his mental wellness.
If you come across my piece, I’d love to hear what you think.
